One email when this document is revised. One labelled sponsor line. A published rate, and an explicit list of what the money cannot buy.
What the email is
This document is revised when the evidence, the law or the regulatory position changes. When it is revised, subscribers get one email saying what changed, which section it was in, and where a verdict moved, what it was before and what it is now.
It is not a marketing list, it is not sent on a schedule, and there is nothing in it except revisions to this document and, occasionally, a note about published research or a regulatory development that bears on the subject. If nothing changes, nothing is sent.
The sponsor line
Each email may carry one sponsor line. It is labelled as a sponsor line, it sits below the editorial content, and it is one line. There is no sponsored section, no sponsored article, no advertorial and no sponsored placement inside the document itself.
The rate
Four hundred pounds per send for the sponsor line. One sponsor per email. The rate is published so that it is not negotiable, and it is the same for everyone.
What a sponsor line cannot buy
- An evidence verdict, or any influence over one.
- A change to a not known block.
- Removal or softening of any criticism of this category or of any practice within it.
- Editorial coverage of a product, a clinic, a technique or a training course.
- A mention anywhere in the document itself, as opposed to in the labelled line.
- Any link from this site. The sponsor line is in the email. This site does not link to commercial providers, and a sponsor is not going to be the exception.
- Advance sight of a revision, or notice of a verdict change before subscribers get it.
- The subscriber list, or any part of it, in any form.
If a sponsor asks for any of those, we decline. If they persist, we say so in the newsletter. That is a slightly unusual thing to publish in advance and it is the reason for publishing it.
Who we will not take money from
The same list as the practitioner listing refusals, plus anyone whose product or service is the subject of an active evidence note on this site. We will not grade a claim and then take money from the person making it, and the fact that the line would be labelled does not fix that.
Your data
We collect your email address and nothing else. We do not sell it, rent it, share it or pass it to a sponsor, a clinic or anyone else. It is used to send you revision emails and for nothing else. Every email has an unsubscribe link and it works immediately. The privacy page sets out the detail, including how to ask us to delete your address.

This reference is revised when the evidence changes. Subscribe and you will be told what was revised, what the verdict was before, and what it is now.
