About and funding
A reference that takes money should say exactly where it comes from and exactly what it cannot buy. This page does both.

Polynucleotides: A Reference is a single subject reference on polynucleotide injectable treatment as it is offered in the United Kingdom. It is published by Northbank Media. It is one continuously numbered document with 6 chapters and 36 sections, rather than a collection of articles, because the subject is one treatment and a reference on one treatment should read like one.
Why this exists
Polynucleotide treatment is heavily promoted and thinly evidenced. Almost everything written about it online is written by someone selling it, and the material that is not tends to be written by someone selling something adjacent. There was no reference that set out what the substance is, what is established, what is not, and what the UK regulatory position actually is, in a form a person could use in a consultation.
This document takes no position on whether anyone should have the treatment. The mechanism is plausible. The short term effect is real. The central claim, that an effect persists after the material has cleared, is unproven. A person who understands that and proceeds has made a decision we have no quarrel with. What this document exists to prevent is someone deciding on the basis that the question has been settled.
How it is funded, in full
Two ways, both disclosed, neither capable of influencing anything editorial.
A paid practitioner listing. Practitioners may pay to appear in a listing on this site. The listing is alphabetical, it is labelled paid, it is not a ranking, and it carries only facts that a reader can independently verify against a public register. A listing is not a recommendation and we have not assessed anybody's clinical practice. The criteria, the price and what we refuse to list at any price are set out on the practitioner listing page.
A newsletter sponsor line. One labelled line in the email that goes out when this document is revised. The rate is published on the newsletter page, along with an explicit statement of what sponsorship cannot buy.
What we do not do
- No lead form. We do not collect enquiries and pass them to clinics. Sending people to unassessed providers is the thing this reference exists to warn about, and monetising it would be incoherent.
- No affiliate or referral income. No commission from any clinic, manufacturer, distributor or training provider.
- No commercial outbound links. No page on this site links to a clinic, a practitioner, a product supplier, a training company or an agency. Outbound links go to regulators, professional bodies, legislation and research indexes only.
- No advertising network. No display advertising, no programmatic advertising, no sponsored articles.
- No ranked lists. No best clinics, no top practitioners, no comparison scores. A ranked list of businesses we have not assessed would be an invention.
- No prices for the treatment. Explained on the page about numbers.
What money cannot buy here
An evidence verdict. A change to a not known block. Removal of a criticism of the category. Editorial coverage of a product. A position in the listing other than alphabetical. A description in the listing that is not independently verifiable. Any statement anywhere on this site that is not supportable.
These are stated as absolutes because they are absolutes. If a listing holder or a sponsor were to ask for any of them, we would decline and, if they persisted, publish the fact.
Who writes it
This document is written and edited by Northbank Media. We are a publisher, not a clinic, not a training provider and not a practitioner. Nobody involved in producing this document provides, sells, distributes or trains anyone in this treatment or any adjacent one, and nobody involved holds a commercial interest in any product mentioned.
We are not clinicians. This document is general information, not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not a substitute for assessment by a qualified clinician who has examined you. Where it describes what good practice looks like, it does so by reference to published guidance from the professional regulators and to published law, both of which are linked so that you can read them yourself.
Corrections
The editorial standards page sets out the correction policy, the verdict vocabulary, and what would cause a verdict to change. The evidence register and the open questions register exist so that our position is visible in full and can be argued with. If you think something here is wrong, the contact page is the route.
Revisions to this document
This reference is revised when the evidence changes. Subscribe and you will be told what was revised, what the verdict was before, and what it is now.
One email when this document is revised, with what changed and why. Any sponsor line is labelled as such and can never influence an evidence verdict. Rates are published on the newsletter page. We do not sell, share or rent the list. Unsubscribe from any email.
